Radio-controlled watches set themselves from time signals broadcast in the US, the UK, Germany and Japan. Far from those stations, indoors, or near electronics, the signal is too weak to pick up. WatchWhisper sends the same signal from your phone, right next to your watch.
Your phone plays a high tone, switched off and on in the exact pattern of a time station. Its speaker turns that into a faint radio signal on the station's frequency, strong enough for a watch resting on the phone. There's nothing to install: it runs in your browser.
Watches and clocks that set themselves from the US (WWVB), UK (MSF), German (DCF77) or Japanese (JJY) time signals. We've synced a Casio Lineage with Multiband 6 on all four. Casio Wave Ceptor, G-Shock and Oceanus, Citizen Atomic Timekeeping, Seiko Radio Sync and atomic wall clocks like La Crosse use the same signals, so they should work too. A few newer clocks only read a newer form of the US signal and won't.
The one your watch is set to. A watch only listens for a time signal when its home city is one of the cities in the list, and the city decides which signal it listens for. If your city isn't there, set your watch to the nearest one that is.
Look for "manual receive" in your watch's manual. On many Casios you hold one button for about two seconds until the watch shows it's ready. Tap Start here first, then start the receive. Most watches finish in 2 to 4 minutes.
Turn the volume all the way up: at half volume, syncs fail. Turn Bluetooth off so the sound comes from the phone, and Do Not Disturb on so notifications don't get in the way. Rest your watch at the top of the screen and turn it a little if it doesn't pick up. Still nothing after 5 minutes? Tap Try another way, then start a new receive on your watch.
